Scott Kaczorowski joined RCCC as the pastor in April of 2019. Scott met his wife Inok while he was teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea. She followed him to America where they were married in 2006. After seven years of study at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Scott (finally!) earned a Masters of Divinity in Biblical/Theological Studies. Scott has a passion for preaching, pastoral ministry, and evangelism. In addition to pastoring RCCC he serves as the Doctrinal Editor for Thistlebend Ministries, a discipleship organization based in Louisville, Kentucky. He also enjoys reading and writing articles, one of which has been published in a peer reviewed theological journal. Inok enjoys playing and teaching piano. They have no children (yet) but almost ended up adopting Scott’s mother’s dog.
Dave Christensen began attending RCCC in 1991 and has been serving as an elder since 2009. He also plays guitar (and tries to sing) with one of the church’s several worship teams. Married for 50 years, he and his wife Iva raised three children and are now the proud grandparents of five girls and two boys. Retired since 2013, Dave’s background is in engineering, where he held various positions in electronic design, power systems consulting, engineering management, and technical recruiting. Originally from the Chicago area, he and Iva also lived in Florida, Milwaukee, northern Wisconsin, and have now resided in the Wisconsin Rapids area for nearly 30 years.
Roy Ferkey serves as an elder at RCCC where he has attended church for 30 years. If you come early for adult Sunday School you will find him facilitating the class. If you stay for service many times you will find him playing bass and singing in one of RCCC’s worship teams. If you run into him in the community you will likely see him building a home. A lifelong resident of this area, he and his wife Colleen have their own home building business named Ferkey Builders. Roy loves classic cars, ice cream, and, of course, building things.
Colleen Ferkey servers as RCCC’s Board secretary. If her last name sounds familiar, it’s because she is married to Roy Ferkey, one of the elders here at RCCC. (You may also recognize it from their home building business, Ferkey Builders.) She and Roy have been married for 30 years and have attended RCCC for their entire marriage. In addition to serving as Board secretary, she also plays rhythm guitar and sings on one of RCCC’s worship teams as well as serving in the children’s ministry. Hobby-wise Colleen has a blast crocheting and she loves to read.
Iva Christensen currently serves as treasurer. She has been a member of RCCC almost from its beginning and has served in many capacities since then including teaching Sunday school, facilitating the ladies’ Bible study, leading worship while on the worship team, and serving as treasurer various times. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Chicago but postponed her career in teaching to be a stay-at-home mother of her three children. Iva now has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She retired from a subsequent career in banking in 2013.
Danny O’Day serves as the head deacon at RCCC. He also serves in the children’s ministry, leads worship on occasion, and sometimes finds himself doing odd jobs around the church—from changing the marque to painting the pastor’s office or part of the fellowship hall. Professionally he is a licensed massage therapist and the owner of Healing Spirit Therapeutic Massage in Wisconsin Rapids. Danny is married to Heike and he thinks this is one of the best things about him. He says that he and his wife are (k)nit wits, because they both like to knit. He also enjoys any imaginable activity involving woodworking.
Have you ever raised your hand to volunteer for a small job that needed to get done and suddenly you got the whole “department”? That’s how Heike O’Day became the Administrative Assistant at RCCC in January of 2016. Heike’s journey has been quite unique. Having grown up in Germany, she found herself on a tiny island of Hawaii in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in 2001 where she met Danny, the man who would become her husband. God must have known that the “law of attraction” wasn’t going to work for them, so He arranged for them to be “stuck” on a small island where they had no choice but to get to know each other. That was many years and four children ago. In 2006 Heike started a professional photography business named Heike C. O’Day Photography. In 2018 she earned her national certification as a professional photographer. She is currently working towards earning a PPA Master Of Photography degree.
